Have no plans for Halloween weekend? Don’t fear, save the dates for these future campus events!

You may want to keep your eyes peeled to guess the count of chocolate treats. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., anyone can come and win a jar of candy at the Alumni Village Community Center (AVCC) if they can guess the correct amount of chocolate bars within the jar.

“I think it would be fun and slightly competitive for those [who] choose to participate,” says Maya Sison, the resident assistant (RA) and event host. “Earlier this semester, I asked my residents what events they would like to see and what would get them to come. I chose Halloween because it’s timely and it's been known, regarding events, that people like free food. So why not make a little game out of it? Hopefully you all will join me in the AVCC on Tuesday!” Anyone can attend; all events are posted on Panther Link and on the SUNY Purchase website calendar for more information.

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, free Halloween candy will be given away at Farside Residential Office from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and only while supplies last, so make sure to get a head start on the sweet goods!

Not a fan of candy? On Oct. 28, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., The Commons S3-2 will be hosting a Spooky Snack Night where students can try different Halloween-themed snacks. “You can decorate your own bat, ghost or pumpkin cookie,” says RA Jordan Plange, the event host.

You may be asking, which way to the party? On Thursday, Oct. 29, make sure to stop by Central Residential Office from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a Spooky Little Surprise. You can grab some more free candy or spend time hanging out with other residents. “This trick-or-treat giveaway is

a fun way to celebrate Halloween and gives students a break from school and their busy schedules,” says Central RA Blessed Defy-Pierre. “This event will help students feel more comfortable, connected, and involved within the community.”

Not too tired for a movie after that party? Then head on over to The Commons on Oct. 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. In addition to the film, you can grab some hot chocolate and treats! “You can enjoy my favorite fall-themed movie, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox,’” says RA Ashley Moore, the event host.

For those of you who read this far, fang you, fang you so much!

Don’t forget to watch as the leaves change colors as the days count down to Halloween! On Oct. 31, if you are still on campus, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., you can make a Halloween goodie bag in the Central residence hall. Also, while you all are outside in your costumes, don’t forget to stop by and say “Trick or Treat” at The Commons Residential Office for a sweet treat from RA Miles Ackerman-Hovis before the night ends. Stay spooky and stay safe
