The Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA) hosted their annual Karnival celebration on April 26, featuring a full day of events that highlighted Caribbean culture and student life on campus.
The festivities began at 2 p.m. with outdoor activities, including games, paint throwing, and a variety of Caribbean and Latin American food. Students gathered throughout the day to participate in the events and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
At 10:30 p.m., the celebration moved indoors to The Stood for a Fête, a party with music and dancing that continued late into the night. DJ Ino played a variety of Caribbean music that kept the energy high throughout the night.
This year’s Karnival was organized in collaboration with Manhattanville’s Latin American Student Organization and SOCA from Pace University.

This sounded like such a vibrant and fun celebration—love seeing student orgs come together to bring culture to life on campus! I wasn’t there, but the energy definitely reminds me of why I keep my Pelle Pelle Soda Club jacket ready for nights like these. It’s perfect for chilly evenings after outdoor events and definitely has that bold, festive vibe that fits right in. Definitely one of my top picks for winter 2025!
