SOCA’s Karnival Lights Up The Stood

By Alex Del Cueto

The Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA) hosted their annual Karnival celebration on April 26, featuring a full day of events that highlighted Caribbean culture and student life on campus.

The festivities began at 2 p.m. with outdoor activities, including games, paint throwing, and a variety of Caribbean and Latin American food. Students gathered throughout the day to participate in the events and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

At 10:30 p.m., the celebration moved indoors to The Stood for a Fête, a party with music and dancing that continued late into the night. DJ Ino played a variety of Caribbean music that kept the energy high throughout the night.

This year’s Karnival was organized in collaboration with Manhattanville’s Latin American Student Organization and SOCA from Pace University.
