By Josiah Acheampong

Remnants of Post Tropical Storm Ophelia are not done yet, throughout the day on Monday, pulses of rain will hover over the area. The rest of the week, however, will be a mix of sun, clouds, and drizzle before the chances for rain slightly increase for the day on Friday.

MONDAY

WHAT TO EXPECT: WET & WINDY

Make sure to have your rain boots and umbrella handy because the rain will return to the area just in time for the Monday morning commute. Rain can be heavier at times, causing it to become difficult for commuters to drive onto campus. In addition to heavy rain, windy conditions will make traveling onto campus challenging. Don’t rule out an occasional 20 mph wind gust. So, walking through the underpass can be gusty. So, tuck away any loose items.

Flood threat will increase during the day with an additional half inch to three quarters of an inch of rain expected over the area. With rain remaining in the area, the Purchase Men’s Soccer team may have their match canceled or postponed, which is currently scheduled for 7 p.m.

Expect a high temperature of 60°F and a low temperature of 53°F.

A mix of sun and clouds will cover most of the area, finally giving the Purchase campus a break from rain. However, a few pop-up rain showers cannot be ruled out as Post Tropical Storm Ophelia dissipates and takes the dreary weather along with it.

Winds will slowly die down as the day progresses. This should be good news for Purchase College Women’s Tennis team who play Baruch college at 3 p.m. and the Purchase College Women’s Soccer team who play St. Joseph’s University-Brooklyn at 7 p.m.

Expect a high temperature of 64°F and a low temperature of 43°F.
